Protocol Ferment - Final Year Project
Protocol Ferment depicts an artist-turned-vigilante Vee who has to fight her way through soulless robots in an attempt to fight through the corporation that turned her livelihood and city into a soulless hellscape.
My responsibilities:
- I programmed the core mechanics of the player, enemies and combat that allows attack combinations and platformer capabilities
- I animated the main character of the game and her respective attack combinations
- I integrated the animations into the game and allowed the attacks to work in tandem with the code.
Lessons learnt:
- I have learnt about time management and its importance, as I often found myself having to juggle between schoolwork, actual work and fyp.
- I have learnt about the importance of communication having observed the falling out between members.
- I have learnt about the importance of predicting possible issues that can block major progress and contingency plans to counter said issues and continue work smoothly. My PC died on the last day of development and last minute setting up the project on my laptop were in vain due to bugs with the editor, which significantly hindered my ability to work and fix bugs.
